Fire Risk and Help
During the course of a survey we will as surveyors take a common sense view with regard to fire. We will comment if we feel there are problems. For example we will identify high risk areas in commercial properties such as kitchens and also make common sense suggestions. The other thing we look out for are old fire linings such as asbestos which you can appreciate are a fire hazard. We also, of course, do very basics in houses such as check there is a fire alarm system in there and whether it's hard-wired or battery. Most people we find don't ever change the batteries. We also look to see if the underside of the stairs is lined with regard to escaping should a worst case scenario of a fire take place.
