Excellent surveying service

1stAssociated surveyed a 1930s detached house for us. Due to the coronavirus I was unable to go into the property whilst the survey was being carried out but was able to speak with the surveyor outside the property.

I instructed 1stAssociated to survey this commercial property which is in a Conservation Area and was previously a place of worship. My plan is to turn the property into a nursery.

I was very happy with the survey I received. Although it highlighted things that need serious consideration such as reducing the dampness and making the building watertight the survey also advised what would need to be done to do those things and also gave me approximate costs for the work.

Overall I am very happy with the report and the service I received from 1stAssociated and I will be buying the property.

Meeting Surveyor was super helpful

On instructing 1stAssociated we met the surveyor at the property on the day of the survey which we found super helpful.

Easy to Read Building Survey

Excellent Building Survey

I instructed 1stAssociated to survey a mansion block of apartments for me in Hampstead.

Meeting Surveyor at the property was very helpful

This was the 2nd survey we had instructed 1stAssociated to carry out for us.

This time it was on a Georgian style mid terraced property we were looking at buying. We had some concerns as a previous survey had highlighted some issues and the mortgage valuation also flagged that we needed to get a timber rot/damp report which 1stAssociated advised would be covered having a full Residential Building Survey with them. Meeting the surveyor at the property was very helpful and we afterwards received an easy to understand report. Clear, easy to understand building surveys

Very detailed building surveys

I was recommended 1stAssociated by a friend who had used them previously and was not disappointed.

I met the surveyor at the property who was very knowledgeable. I received a very detailed report. Due to the noise transfer within the property probably due to lack of insulation because of the age of the building and after speaking to neighbours regarding some noisy residents I have decided not to go ahead with the purchase.

Invaluable Building Survey

We booked a survey with 1stAssociated on a Victorian/Edwardian terrace property we were interested in buying. The property was in a dilapidated state and needed lots of cosmetic work doing but we wanted to know if the property was structurally sound.

We met the surveyor at the property whose advice was invaluable and a couple of days later we received a very detailed easy to understand report. Although there were a few things in the 'ugly' section of the report a main concern is the drainage. Our next step on the surveyors advice before we make the final decision as to whether to take this project on is to have a specialist drainage report carried out.

Fantastic Surveyor

I called 1stAssociated regarding a survey on a ground floor apartment I was interested in buying. I had concerns as my partner has breathing difficulties and I had seen some internal dampness in the back bedroom when I viewed the property.

I was sent an example survey and given a great quote and I was also advised the surveyor would be more than happy for me to attend the survey so I decided to go ahead. Save money with a Building Survey

I contacted 1stAssociated as I needed a survey carried out on a 57 year old detached property I was interested in buying. I was sent an example survey and advised the surveyor would be more than happy for me to go along to the survey which sounded appealing. I was given a great quote and decided to go ahead.

Issues highlighted in Report - landlord agreed to a new roof

We booked through 1stAssociated to have a Schedule of Condition carried out on a commercial property we were looking at leasing. As well as receiving a Schedule of Condition we also received a Property Report which highlighted certain issues with the property.

We are pleased to say as a result of these issues being highlighted by the surveyor the landlord has agreed to a new roof and is having the sewerage pipes looked at of which the surveyor advised appear to have leaked over time. We are also in discussion regarding some damp issues raised.

We are due to move into the property shortly and would like to thank all involved at 1stAssociated for their time and help.

Friendly Surveyors, great service

This is the second time we have used 1st Associated. The first survey we did not go ahead with purchasing the property as the surveyor found problems with the house that we were unaware of and was not informed about by the estate agents. We are having to move to London to be closer to family so on this second survey I was unable to attend which I was gutted about as when I was at the first survey I found that meeting the surveyor really helped when walking around with him and then receiving the report which made everything a lot clearer.

We are now in the process of purchasing the second property and hopefully will not be much longer before we move in. Due to the findings in this report we have been able to negotiate with the purchase price which has really helped. The surveyor was really friendly and was happy to chat to me about my questions and give extra advice. Also the ladies in the office kept in touch with the process of my report from the start to the finish.

Easy to understand Building Surveys

We booked a survey on a 1930s/1950s semi detached property we were interested in buying. We met the surveyor at the property which was very useful as he highlighted problems we were not aware of. Due to the internal and external cracking in the property we are undecided as yet as to whether we will be going ahead.

Meeting Surveyor at property survey was great

1stAssociated carried out a survey for us on a 1900s ground floor apartment we were interested in purchasing. We were able to meet the surveyor at the property which was great. Due to the surveyors findings including the fact there had been movement to the property we decided not to go ahead with the purchase but have since found another property of which we have booked 1stAssociated to survey.

We feel without the help of 1stAssociated we would probably have make a bad decision on the first property. Fingers crossed the next property is the one.

Helpful Property Reports

I called 1stAssociated on behalf of my son as he and his partner work full time. They live in a top floor Victorian conversion flat and are having problems with internal damp. They have had a few quotes from roofing companies which varied from £6k to make some changes to £22k for having the whole roof replaced! They have also had some repointing work done by workmen who turned out to be cowboys and probably made the situation worse.

After calling 1stAssociated I was sent an example Specific Defects Report which was very helpful and I decided to instruct a surveyor. The survey was booked very efficiently for the following day. Meeting the surveyor at the property was great and I really appreciate his patience in listening to my concerns. He gave me an idea of the bigger picture. My son is also having windows replaced in 8 - 10 weeks so we now need to decide whether to hold on and tie any roof work that is required in with having the new windows fitted so as not to have to pay twice for scaffolding or whether to do as two separate projects. I am looking forward to reading the full report once completed.

Recommended Building Surveyors

This is the second time we have used 1stAssociated who were recommended to us by my mother who has also used them twice. This time we instructed them to survey a Victorian mid terraced property. Informed decision with a Building Survey

We decided against purchasing the property following the survey. The survey was very helpful to us in making that decision.

The report was easy to read, the pictures and sketches were really helpful to illustrate any issues the surveyor spotted. The surveyor was very helpful and we had a follow up conversation with him to discuss further things he had flagged. The drone shots he included in the report showed us problems we were not aware of and we were then able to seek a second opinion from a roofer using them to ascertain the extent of the problems. It was helpful to have the example survey sent to us and helped us to make the decision to go forward with the survey. The service was very helpful and friendly and the booking and payment process was straightforward and clear.

Overall - although we are obviously disappointed that ultimately the result of the survey was negative and we pulled out of the house purchase, the service provided by 1stAssociated was helpful, efficient and good value and helped us to make a more informed choice.

Priority Service Building Surveys
