Survey saved client a lot of money

I called 1stAssociated as I had seen a detached property I was interested in which also formed a kennel and cattery business although my plan was to bulldoze the kennels. The garage which was 20ft or so away from the property appeared to be riddled with woodworm and I was concerned this had gone into the house. The downstairs floors were bouncy and I also wanted this checked out.

I met the surveyor at the property who recommended we have a section of the floor opened up so he could see what was going on underneath. The floor was opened up in the lounge and dining room and although the surveyor saw no clear signs of woodworm he advised as the property was on a sloping sight it was highly likely there was dampness there. The surveyor also found problems with the main pitched roof and flat roofs, movement and external joinery concerns.

Without this survey I probably would have bought the property and I would like to thank the surveyor for saving me a lot of money.

Listed Building Specialist Surveys

The property we instructed you to survey was a Grade ll listed thatched farmhouse built in 1670 so we wanted a full building survey. On making our initial enquiry we were promptly sent an example survey of a listed building and advised if we instructed then the surveyor that would carry out the survey would be a listed building specialist which gave us confidence.

We were given the option to meet the surveyor at the property but as we live in London and the property was in Bedfordshire we were unable to make it but were able to speak with the surveyor by phone which was great. The report was really good and made an interesting read although due to the findings of the survey such as the thatch nearing the end of its life, woodworm problems and the tiled roof needing to be re-tiled and also finding out about proposed developments on the land surrounding the house we came to the decision to pull out of the purchase.

Meeting Surveyor at property was invaluable

Great Building Survey Service

I booked a survey with 1stAssociated on a house we were looking at buying to rent out. The survey was great and meeting the surveyor at the property was very useful. I think it is always nice to see face to face who you are dealing with!

Due to a combination of reasons we are not proceeding with the purchase of the property and are now considering looking at buying a couple of flats as feel the return on them would be greater.

Meeting the Surveyor at the survey was great

We instructed 1stAssociated to survey a Potton Timber Frame Construction for us. We were very happy with the service we received.

It was great to be able to meet the surveyor at the property but due to a combination of issues the surveyor highlighted and other things we will not be going ahead with the purchase.

Very detailed Building Surveys

We instructed 1stAssociated to survey this detached property for us which also had a 3 bedroom annexe. The property had not been very well maintained but we were looking at making lots of changes to the property.

We met the very knowledgeable surveyor at the property who gave us lots of good advice and we received a very detailed report a few days later.

Saving money with a Building Survey

We instructed 1stAssociated to survey this modern semi-detached property. The work they have done for us has been fantastic.

As well as visiting the property and producing the report we have also had a phone conversation with our surveyor to discuss certain issues. The issues the survey highlighted we have raised with the estate agent and we are currently waiting for a response from the vendor via the agent. We have asked the agent to establish whether some of our surveyors recommendations have been tried and have also asked whether the vendors would consider carrying out the work recommended and also reduce the price of the property.

We are still very excited about this property and hope to have some good news soon.

Building Surveys with more detail than we ever expected

We have just met the surveyor at the property we are looking at buying. The surveyor was brilliant, very thorough. He addressed all of our issues such as the internal cracking and gave us more detail overall than we ever expected.

Efficient Building Surveys

I booked this survey on behalf of my parents. The service on booking was very efficient and we received a very detailed report from them.

There were a few issues with the property such as cracking and as my parents originally wanted a semi and this was a terrace they have decided not to purchase this property but to continue looking for a semi.

Impressive Building Surveys

Myself and my partner were very impressed with the survey carried out by 1stAssociated. Initially the only concerns we had were some issues with the chimney and the wood burner but problems were found with the roof, valley gutter, chimney and also dampness so we have decided against purchasing this property.

We are moving from Cheshire for my wifes job in London and found this property close to the train station. We instructed 1stAssociated to survey and we were offered the chance to meet the surveyor at the property which we agreed to do and found to be very useful.

Great Building Survey Service

I instructed 1stAssociated to survey for me and received a very detailed report. As I was unable to meet the surveyor at the property on the day of the survey as offered I had a very helpful call with the surveyor after I had read through the report. I am going ahead with the purchase but I am going to try and renegotiate slightly on the price based on the surveyors findings (although no major problems were found).
